Team kit


July 14:  Team kit is thought about, at last.  We must have team kit.  We won't be a proper team otherwise will we?  The fact that Paul will wear the Liquigas puce kit all week is neither here nor there.  The boys deliberate, bitch, disagree, and a week later the design is revealed.  One of these photos is the team kit; the other is how Lord W will be seen on the bike.  You choose...

What it is all about

1910: At the top of the Aubisque, Desgrange (the founder of the Tour De France) and the other officials awaited the first riders. It was Lapize who emerged first, his face a perfect rictus of agony. On the stage’s final climb and with the pain of the Tourmalet still in his legs, it was at that moment that Lapize uttered the words for which he would become famous: “Vous êtes des assassins!”
