Duncan becomes official

June 7:  It's official: Dunc will be joining us and has agreed to buy all the beers for the whole week for not letting us know until very late in the day... but good news he's joining us anyway and will be good to see him - we're now the dirty (or slightly suspect in Nigel's case) dozen.




Somewhere along the line James committed to the cause as well, but I can't find the date.  We think we are a dozen, but watch this space.

What it is all about

1910: At the top of the Aubisque, Desgrange (the founder of the Tour De France) and the other officials awaited the first riders. It was Lapize who emerged first, his face a perfect rictus of agony. On the stage’s final climb and with the pain of the Tourmalet still in his legs, it was at that moment that Lapize uttered the words for which he would become famous: “Vous êtes des assassins!”
