Nigel gets his act together....

June  15:  Nigel finally gets the hotel of his choice:

Gentlemen (and Brucey),

Hotel La Bonne Auberge is reserved for Wednesday 7th September - 6 twin rooms at 56 euros per person, half board. It is recommended in my French Hotel and Michelin guides. It has a pool, restaurant, games room and waxing service (for Walsy). Anne Maurel (the manageress with the husky voice) looks forward to meeting you.

What it is all about

1910: At the top of the Aubisque, Desgrange (the founder of the Tour De France) and the other officials awaited the first riders. It was Lapize who emerged first, his face a perfect rictus of agony. On the stage’s final climb and with the pain of the Tourmalet still in his legs, it was at that moment that Lapize uttered the words for which he would become famous: “Vous êtes des assassins!”
